My name is Mauro Mahjoub and I am Head Bartender /Owner of Negroni Bar in Munich, Germany, Campari Brand Ambassador and I also have the Campari Academy where I have a extensive collection of bar books, bar tools, historical documents and cocktail shakers – a museum, training and research facility in Munich.
How did you slip in into bartending?
I became excited to become a bartender after taking my first bartending seminar, 20 years ago.

The guests and the bartender
In which bar do you feel most comfortable?
I feel comfortable in a bar with professional bartenders (e.g. in your bar- The Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel in Munich, The Charles Hotel, and Schumann's)
What is your favourite spirit?
Gin, Whiskey, Rum, and Bitters
What drink do you drink in which atmosphere?
during the summer I prefer rum and fresh cocktails: Daiquiri, Mojito, Ti Punch, Gin Tonic, in winter: Martini Cocktail, Negroni, Manhattan (as Pre-Dinner), Sazerac, Juleps, Stinger, Old Fashioned (as After - Dinner)
What is essential for an ideal bar atmosphere/ what is a perfect bar atmosphere?
lighting, music, the bartender
What makes a good bartender?
knowledge, sensibility, and touch
Do you have any idols?
Elvis Presley :-)
What do you think about shochu?
It is a nice spirit and has become popular and a trend among bartenders

Muss man in einem deutschsprachigen Blog ein Englisches Interview setzen?
Schaut ein wenig hochnäsig aus, wenn man einen deutschsprachigen auf Englisch interviewt.
i think it´s ok to write english in a german blog.
finally the german barscene wants to take part in the international barscene, oder nicht!?
denke ich schon, dass dies so ist, aber dann sollte man vielleicht auf einen englischsprachigen Blog setzen, wenn man so denkt.
Naja, man kann des sehen, wie man will.
Ich denke das zu dieser Zeit "viele" fast genauso gut englisch sprechen können wie deutsch, da der interviewte 5-6 Sprachen fließend spricht und er die Wahl hatte auf ein Interview zwischen deutsch und englisch, hat er sich für, da wir eine internationale Gemeinschaft sind, für englisch entschieden!
